| The sixth annual YALSA Teen Tech Week is rapidly approaching and is set for March 4-10, 2012. If you are not familiar with Teen Tech Week, it is a national program sponsered by YALSA (Young Adult Library Services Association), a division of the ALA. Teen Tech Week is meant to ensure that teens are compentent and ethical users of technologies, especially those offered at the library. The week encourages libraries to reach out to teen to show them how to use nonprint resources for education and recreation as well as demonstrate that librarians are qualified, trusted professional in the field of information technology. This year's Teen Tech Week theme is "Geek Out @ Your Library." YALSA offers a number of products that may optionally be purchased to promote the event at your library. Check out the website for more information on the event or if you are interested in purchasing promotion materials. |
