Summary Bulletin:
On August 26, a change is being made to two system-wide settings involving borrower types or BTYPEs. This is to allow patrons who would like to renew over-due items via the iPAC, whose home library allows iPAC renewals of over-due items, to not be blocked by system-wide settings.
At this time, if a patron has $10 in fines or 25 items over-due, they cannot renew on the iPAC even if their home library would normally allow it. On July 23, these values will be raised to $200 maximum fines and 200 items overdue.
See the full bulletin for more detailed information. Contact the Help Desk if you have any questions.

On August 26, a change is being made to two system-wide settings involving borrower types or BTYPEs. This is to allow patrons who would like to renew over-due items via the iPAC, whose home library allows iPAC renewals of over-due items, to not be blocked by system-wide settings.
Local library policies will not be over-ridden by this change. The local policies that balance out these system-wide values are these:
1. Allow iPAC Renewals: if you allow patrons to renew their own items, they will continue to do so. If you do not allow renewals, patrons cannot do so. 1=yes and 0=no.
2. Maximum iPAC Renewals Allowed: this is a number of renewals allowed.
3. Allow iPAC Renewals on Overdue Items: this is also a yes or no answer.
4. Maximum Number of Items Out: Patrons cannot check out more than this number of items. Only a small number of our libraries allow patrons to check out more than 200 items at a time.
You can review your local policies here: http://tomcat.selco.info/reports/params/; Remember that there may be exceptions to your default, and you can view those by clicking on the exception title-line. Those are links to access any exceptions you may have.
At this time, if a patron has $10 in fines or 25 items over-due, they cannot renew on the iPAC even if their home library would normally allow it. On July 23, these values will be raised to $200 maximum fines and 200 items overdue for most borrower types. We will not be raising the values on these borrower types: One Day, Restricted Borrower, Temporary Resident, Self Registered Borrower, and Visitor.
At any time, you can modify your default values and exceptions. Please fill out the Circulation Exception Form found here and send it to the Help Desk: Horizon Documentation . Please call the Help Desk if you have any questions about default values and exceptions and BTYPEs and ITYPEs.
