On Monday, October 4 we will be upgrading your Horizon clients to version 7.3.3.
By upgrading to Horizon 7.3.3 we will finally have the ability to implement 'local request only'. For those unfamiliar with the old DRA system, 'local request only' was a setting that denies borrowers from other libraries the ability to request certain items in your collection. This setting was greatly missed, and I'm happy to say it will be available soon
(more emails to come on local requests).
The 7.3.3 upgrade will be distributed exclusively as an automatic client install. With the success of having the schools use the automatic installs, we've decided to try to try it with everybody! We may end up encountering bandwidth problems (hopefully not), and if we do, the next upgrade may fall back on the upgrade CD's or scheduling a block of time for you to run your library's automatic client installs.
The process of running the automatic client upgrade is simple:
When you log in on Monday morning (or any time afterward), Horizon will tell you that your version is out of date, and ask if you want to upgrade. Select 'yes'.
The installer file is 40 MB, which is quite large, it may take a little time for you to fully download it.
Once it is fully downloaded it automatically runs, and needs no input or help from the user. Once it is finished, you may start Horizon.
More detailed instructions (complete with screenshots) are available online at:

(careful, that URL might word-wrap)
Or you can go to the SELCO homepage -- programs and services tab -- manuals then click on the 'Horizon Upgrade Information, Release Notes, and User's Guides' link.
